Are these really hedges, or just liquidity management? If QID’s rolling puts, why not just buy QQQ outright?

Not convinced this is a real hedge strategy.

I’m still learning, but it seems like QID is hedging with puts on QQQ and calls on SQQQ. That makes sense if they expect choppy days, but I’m not sure how spreads work.
