pru prudential leadership ceo chairman c suite paychecks
$PRU Prudential’s leadership is the issue. The CEO is also the Chairman, so the person supposed to be accountable is the one running the board meant to hold him responsible. With a C-suite that's been at PRU for 20 to 40 years, you get the situation you see: no turnover, no urgency, and returns that lag behind other companies. Yet, this same group took big paychecks in 2024. The CEO made around $27 million, the Vice Chair $21 million, the CFO $12 million, and the heads of U.S. and International businesses another $8–11 million each. Most of this pay comes from stock awards with no cost basis. They get shares for free and cash them in at full market value even if the stock hasn't increased. There's no incentive to boost shareholder value—it's just printing money.
